I too share your opinion about having a little bit heavier point than 60 grains with 80 grains about the lower limit in point weight for a compound. I find the heavier point more forgiving in all weather conditions. Compound archers can get away with a lighter point than recurve as they do have sufficient initial velocity to carry the arrow enough to overcome FOC instability. The 3D guys shoot very light points, but their longest target is usually no more that 45 meters.
